About Traveling to Syracuse, Syracuse International Airport, and Hotel Shuttles

Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) is conveniently located 10 miles from downtown Syracuse.  Syracuse Airport is serviced by all of the major airline carriers and the low cost carrier JetBlue Airways.

Syracuse has direct flights from many major airports that serve international travelers including Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Charlotte (CLT), Chicago (ORD), Detroit (DTW), Newark (EWR), New York (JFK), Philadelphia (PHL), and Washington, DC (IAD).

If you require assistance in securing your air travel arrangements to Syracuse, BTI The Travel Consultants is available to assist you. BTI is an independent travel management company affiliated with a global travel management company, BCD Travel. 

Located in Syracuse, NY, the BTI office is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Please indicate your requested air travel itinerary on the registration site and BTI will provide flight options and best available pricing. BTI offers assistance to all of its travelers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Airport Security

Check in at least two hours prior to flight time for all international flights and one hour for domestic flights. Reservations are subject to cancellation unless you present yourself at the gate at least one hour prior to your scheduled departure time. Due to FAA regulations, a positive luggage match is required for each traveler.

Baggage Claim

There are two baggage claim areas at Syracuse's Hancock International Airport, located on the first floor in Terminal A and Terminal B.

Airport Shuttle Service

Complimentary shuttle service will be available between the Syracuse Hancock International Airport and HB2009 conference hotels for conference attendees and their guests.

Rental Cars

There are six car rental agencies that service Syracuse Hancock International Airport. These offices are continuously staffed to provide quality customer service. Reservations may be made in advance or upon arrival at the Airport. The car rental agencies are conveniently located on the first floor of the main lobby. Taxi Service

Century Transportation provides taxi service on an exclusive basis at Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Passengers requiring ground transportation service can register with Century at one of the dispatch areas located near each baggage claim location. These areas are staffed between the hours of 5 am and 2 am. To pre-arrange taxi service, please call (315) 455-5151.

Conference Shuttle Service

Complimentary shuttle service will be provided from HB2009 conference hotels to the Oncenter Convention Center during conference hours Sunday, Sept. 13 through Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009.
